Set in eighteenth century Romania, this film reveals the origins of BloodRayne and is the cinematic prequel to Majesco's popular videogame. Rayne (Kristanna Loken) is a young Dhampir (Half-human, half-vampire), prone to fits of blind blood rage as she strives to avenge her mother's rape and murder by her father: Kagan (Sir Ben Kingsley)- King of the Vampires.
Orphaned and forced to find refuge in a circus freak show, Rayne does not discover her true abilities until the night she must defend herself from the circus strong man and she tastes human blood for the first time. Consumed by blood-lust and tormented by her new identity, she transforms into BroodRayne and feeds on the blood of vampires, refusing to take the lives of lives of innocent humans.
Two vampire hunters from the Brimstone Society, Vladimir (Michael Madsen) and Sebastian (Matt Davis), persuade her to join their cause to destroy the most evil and powerful all of the vampires in the land: her father. She races against Kagan to find the three Talisman organs: a heart, an eye and a rib from her ancestor vampire: Beliar.
The Talismans give the beholder the power to throw the Earth into darkness by allowing vampires to rule forever...
