 Michael told us:
The movie went very well and with any luck it will be released in the cinema
this summer. The director on the other hand was great; he was more prepared
and confident than any other director I've worked with in this budget range.
I hope to work with him many times in the future.
I saw a piece of The Furnace the other day and was amazed at the quality
of High Definition video. The cinematographer Viorel Sergovici is Romanian
but has a strong Italian sense for light. His gaffer Lucian Diaconu is
also of the same school of style.

| A handsome, good looking cop with impressive reserves of determination
and guts, Turner is a single man, a detective assigned to investigate the
puzzling suicide of Correctional Officer Joey Robbins. Convinced that some
incident at Robbins' workplace -- Blackgate Prison -- led to his death,
Turner soon finds himself very unpopular with both the guards and the inmates,
who fear he will uncover the ring that has taken over the prison. Then
the sudden rash of bizarre deaths at the prison - Turner must face a prison
riot. |
A beautiful, tough-minded woman in her early 30s, Carter is a physician,
the prison doctor at Blackgate. Carter is initially baffled by the sudden
burst of suicides among the prison population, and works closely with Detective
Turner to find out what is driving the prisoners. Together with Turner,
she finds that demonic forces locked within the sealed west wing of the
prison have been unleashed. |
